Earth Day Activity

Biology students in Rhonda Almquist's Classroom participated in an Earth Day activity on April 22.  The activity was organized by Matt and Amanda Dollison and several other NRCS employees as well as students Mason Dovel, Trevor Contreas-Bohlen, and Jarek Lindner.

Students met at a site South of Hamburg to remove wire cages from trees and then went to a water structure by Percival to remove trash.  The efforts generated a full trailer of trash and several dumpsters of wire. The event ended with some information about wildlife in the area.

Mrs. Almquist stated she "was proud of the great efforts the students showed during the event. It is encouraging to know how much our youth appreciate establishing and maintaining habitats for all to enjoy for years to come."

Front to Back: Flynt Bell, Ben Kingsolver, Preston LeBaugh, Mavryc Morgan, and Austin Lang pulling a wet, queen-sized mattress to the trailer.
