Attention: Band Parents
Hello Band Parents! I hope all of you are looking forward to the end of the school year!
I am looking forward to a great start to the 2022 marching season for the Sidney Pride Marching Band. We had a fantastic year last year – we won the parade at the Southwest Iowa Band Jamboree in Clarinda and also earned 2nd place at the Hamburg Popcorn Day Parade.
Most importantly, thank you for encouraging your son/daughter to be a part of the Sidney Band Program. It is a huge time commitment, and takes devotion on part of both parents and students. We wouldn’t have the program we have here at Sidney without your support! This year, I am encouraging all band students going into grades 8-12 in the 2022-2023 school year to take part in Band Camp/Rodeo Parade.
Summer Band Camp is scheduled the week of Rodeo, so we can be ready to play at the Rodeo Parade on August 6th:
August 1 - August 6 (Monday-Saturday)
High School Music Room
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
*Rodeo Parade – August 6, 4:00 p.m.*
Meet in the Elementary parking lot at 3:30 p.m.
The community is looking forward to the Sidney Pride marching in the Rodeo Parade again this year. In order for this to be successful, we need all students to attend Band Camp. Band Camp gives us extra time to get music learned and practice street marching. Please make every effort to allow your child to attend Band Camp!
