The Sidney FFA Chapter held its first annual Parent/Member Banquet on Thursday, May 18th.  Many FFA members and community members received awards and recognition for the outstanding work that they have put into the local FFA chapter this past year. The banquet is held each year to showcase students excellence as part of the agriculture program throughout the year. Those in attendance included students, parents and community supporters.

Many certificates were awarded throughout the evening in recognition for activities students were involved in over the course of the year. A few highlights of the awards that FFA advisor Kasey Wallace presented to students included, the Helping Hand Award: Sadie Thompson, Leadership Award: Fallon Sheldon and Most Dedicated Award: Maddie Hensley. Chapter FFA Degrees were awarded to Maddie Hensley, Cade Smith and Fallon Sheldon. Sheldon Farms and Double S Bulls received the Honorary Chapter FFA Degree for their continued support of our FFA chapter.

After the end of year slideshow played, the 2023 FFA graduates unzipped their jackets in a senior ceremony for the final time.

The banquet concluded with the installation of new chapter officers. For the upcoming 2023-2024 year, the new officers include the following: President Fallon Sheldon, Vice President Maddie Hensley, Secretary Ellie Ward, Treasurer Cade Smith, Reporter Victoria Adkisson, and Sentinel Austin Lang.  Advisor Kasey Wallace then provided an emotional going away speech as she has resigned and will not be returning next year.

We thank all community members who have provided their time, services, or monetary and non-monetary donations to our chapter over the last year, along with all of the parents who attended the 2023 FFA banquet! (Slide Show of pictures).
